Immigration Edition.

Tuesday_673x324TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28
PROGRAM # 8209 12:00 PM PST.

Immigration Edition.

A showdown is looming in Congress as progressive Democrats continue pushing their leaders to oppose the spending bill if it doesn’t include a solution to the fate of young Dreamers. Democratic leaders cancelled a meeting with the White House after Trump tweeted “they want illegal immigrants to flood our country” and so, “I don’t see a deal.” Also, the number of applications for citizenship sharply rose before and after the 2016 election, causing wait time to double in areas like California and Arizona. Despite the backlogs, immigrants keep applying. These and other stories are discussed in this program. Also, listeners ask questions about potential issues of inadmissibility for green card and citizenship applicants.

Guests: Diana Pliego, Policy Associate, National Immigration Law Center – NILC, Los Angeles, CA; Attorney Rosalba Piña, Immigration Law Expert, Chicago, IL; (audio cut) Ezra Levin, director ejecutivo, Indivisible, Washington, DC.
