PROGRAM # 9909 12:00 PM PT
Immigration Edition.
Immigrant rights advocates are denouncing a lawsuit filed by 20 Republican states against the Biden administration seeking to block the new parole program for migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. In other news, Colorado is the first state to create an unemployment assistance fund for undocumented immigrant workers. As part of the bill that Gov. Polis signed, the state legislature established the Benefit Recovery Fund, a separate fund for undocumented immigrants that will function similarly to the Unemployment Insurance Fund. Finally, Texas Gov. Abbott is hiring a “border czar” to speed up the building of a border wall. How are communities along the border receiving the news?
