Immigration Edition.
In the Nevada primaries, a number of Republicans who are trying to flip seats held by Democrats got their nominations for the midterms with a message heavy on “border invasion” warnings and promises of mass deportations. Also, the week after DACA’s tenth anniversary, a coalition of business, religious and law enforcement leaders renew efforts to get Congress to pass a permanent solution for the undocumented immigrants who came to the US as children. Finally, in recent news, a federal judge in Texas blocked the Biden administration’s immigration enforcement priority guidelines, which limited arrests to only immigrants who were a public safety threat.
