Immigration Edition.

Early voting in the Georgia primaries ended with record numbers and today is a high stakes election day, as this has become a proxy battle between Donald Trump and traditional Republicans. While this is not a border state, Republican candidates heighten the role of National Guard troops at the US-Mexico border. According to our reporter, a vote to watch is the one of Latina women. Also, in Texas, two Latino Democrats face off for a border congressional seat in a heated debate on immigrant rights and abortion rights. Also, as the first national elections since the January 6 insurrection are underway, civil rights groups warn social media giants to combat election disinformation in their platforms. Finally, a leading immigrant advocate talks about how the racist “great replacement” and “immigrant invasion” rhetoric promoted by major network media figures is stoking the flames of racist violence such as the recent Buffalo massacre.
