Hundreds of thousands of immigrants in California have visited DMV offices in the last two months. Tens of thousands have been able to apply, many for the first time, for driver’s licenses. Even fewer have qualified for a license. A top official comments on the most common problems. Also, advocates call on President Obama to expand executive actions and control ICE agents to protect those still being targeted by deportation.
