Immigration Edition.
This week, Democratic congress members reintroduced HR 6, the American Dream and Promise Act, to enable Dreamers and TPS recipients to earn permanent residence and citizenship. Earlier, Sen. Alex Padilla announced a bill that would provide millions of essential workers and their families a path to citizenship. Last month, the Citizenship Act of 2021, a Biden-Harris administration backed plan was introduced in Congress. The co-author of the big immigfratin reform bill explains the road ahead for immigration reform. A legal and political analyst tlks about the scenarios to get reform done in Congress and the impact of filibuster on immigration reform. Also, a Dreamer activist from Venezuela talks about the granting of TPS protection for Venezuelans, and the dismissal of the “public charge” rule case at the request of the Biden administration.
