TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22
PROGRAM # 9125 12:00 PM PST
Immigration Edition.
A federal judge in Texas hears a case today and considers invalidating DACA. This is the same judge who in 2015 cancelled the Obama administration’s order to extend DACA protections to immigrant parents. On other news, millions of people were left out of the stimulus checks issued in the spring because their spouse or parents were non-citizens. This time, a diverse coalition is asking members of Congress to include all those who were left out in previous relief bills, including mixed status families. Finally, the US Supreme Court delayed ruling on Trump plan to exclude undocumented immigrants from the census numbers that are used to allocate US House seats. What’s the practical effect?
Guests: Grecia Martínez, Deputy Executive director, United We Dream, Washington, DC; Jessica Chicco, Staff Attorney, Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, Boston, MA; Others TBA.
