Immigration Edition.
Arkansas has a new law banning sanctuary cities, which imposes state funding cuts to cities that don’t cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Other Republican-led states have passed similar laws. On the other hand, a new law in Arkansas grants in-state college tuition to DACA recipients and other immigrants and nursing licenses to DACA students. And in Colorado, a new law expanding access to driver’s licenses for the undocumented is going into effect. These and other news developments are discussed in this edition.

Puerto Rico Hit by Powerful Quakes. Puerto Rico has declared a state of emergency after an unusual series of powerful earthquakes hit the island. The quakes, the most damaging in more than a century, triggered blackouts and landslides, damaged roads and bridges, and collapsed buildings. This is a report on the disaster and the plans to prepare for more and stronger quakes.
