Puerto Rico Hit by Powerful Quakes.  Puerto Rico has declared a state of emergency after an unusual series of powerful earthquakes hit the island. The quakes, the most damaging in more than a century, triggered blackouts and landslides, damaged roads and bridges, and collapsed buildings. This is a report on the disaster and the plans to prepare for more and stronger quakes.
