Immigration Edition.

A group of US human rights advocates visit this week Guatemala and Mexico on a fact-finding mission about the migrant exodus. A leader of the delegation talks about this and about recent developments, such as a new Senate bill to dramatically change asylum laws and the ruling of a federal judge finding that Trump asylum ban is illegal. He also comments on the headline news: the massacre of 22 people, mostly Mexican and Mexican-Americans, in El Paso by a white man, incident that’s being investigated as a case of domestic terrorism. Mexico announced plans to sue those responsible and President Trump blamed videogames and mental illnesses, without committing to take measures for gun control or change his anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Guests: Oscar Chacón, Executive Director, Alianza Américas, Guatemala, Guatemala; (Audio Segment) Marcelo Ebrard, Foreign Minister, Mexico, Mexico City.
