Immigration Edition.

Tuesday_673x324TUESDAY, JULY 24
PROGRAM # 8387 12:00 PM PT

Immigration Edition.

A federal judge extended indefinitely the 90-day deadline he gave the Trump administration, that ended this week, to justify the termination of DACA or begin accepting new applications and keep protections for current beneficiaries. At the same time, Texas and other Republican states that are suing to force the end of DACA are asking a conservative judge to block the program. This edition also includes testimonies from Salvadoran migrant parents who have suffered the consequences of the policies of “zero tolerance” at the border. A grandmother complains about the hardships to communicate with her son and grandson detained in different centers in Texas, and a mother talks about the brutal treatment and abortion that she suffered while in detention.

Guests: Adrian Reyna, Director of Membership and Technology Strategies, United We Dream, Oakland, CA; “Ana”, “Julio Cesar”, married couple, asylum applicants, formerly detained in California; “María”, Mother and Grandmother of Detained Asylum Applicants, Fresno, CA.
