Keeping or Banning Dangerous Insecticide.
Health advocates from the San Joaquin Valley, the area with the highest use of chlorpyrifos, are urging California authorities to stop delaying the end of the use of this brain-damaging chemical. The insecticide, one of the most widely used in the US, has been linked to neurological disorders in children. While the Trump administration has given farmers a green light to use it, California is challenging Trump’s failure to impose a ban and is slowly moving to restrict its use. Advocates question the slow pace.

No Guns in Schools. A new California law removes the rights of school administrators to allow staff or parents to bring guns to schools. This law impacts recent decisions in Kern County and other school districts allowing teachers and even non employees to carry guns in the school grounds.
