TUESDAY, JULY 14
PROGRAM # 8944 12:00 PM PT

Immigration Edition.

In response to the Trump administration plans to expel international students if they are unable to attend –in-person classes in the fall, major universities are designing alternative plans to ensure international students can stay in the country and along with a group of states are suing Trump. On other news, community groups in El Paso are calling for the local City Council to fire the police chief and to reform the police department over the death of a mentally-ill unarmed man and other questionable police shootings. The program includes breaking news of the Trump administration’s reversal on its ban on international students, news that hundreds of migrant families held in family detention centers could be separated because a judge postponed his decision, and comments on Trump’s announcement that he would sign a merit-based immigration reform bill by executive order.

Guests: Dr. Antonio Flores, President, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), San Antonio, TX; Fernando García, Executive Director, Border Network for Human Rights, El Paso, TX
