PROGRAM # 7546 12:00 PM PT
Tackling Child Care Crisis.
In an effort to tackle the crisis in the health care system in California, the governor and leaders in the Legislature agreed to increase support to expand access to child care for low-income families in the state. In addition, the state assembly is deliberating on a senate bill that would give child care providers more voice to advocate for improvements in the system, and the right to collective bargaining. A legislator, a concerned mother and a child care provider join this program to discuss the child care crisis and the prospects for the bill.
Guests: Assemblywoman Cristina García, Democrat – Los Angeles, Sacramento, CA; Martha Delgado, Child Care Provider, Los Angeles, CA; Brenda Pinedo, Mother of Four Children, Office Clerk, College Student, Long Beach, CA.
