Eviction Ban Ends, Some Protections Still in Place.
Millions of renters in the US are at risk of eviction now that the emergency protection has come to an end. The ban ended September 30. Many states and local governments created their own eviction protections and state officials in California advise vulnerable tenants with unpaid rent to stay put if they have applied for assistance from the state. Experts talk about protection programs available, tenants rights and resources to seek rental and utility assistance from the Covid-19 Rent Relief Program or local relief funds.
