On the eve of Labor Day weekend, this program focuses on a pressing farm labor topic.
Farmworker Overtime Pay.
A bill to grant farmworkers overtime pay advances in the California legislature amid a heated and highly partisan debate. If approved, California would end the almost 80-year exclusion in the nation from overtime provisions and become the first state in the US to give farmworkers the same right to overtime pay as non farm workers.

Trump’s Gambit: Mexico and Immigration. In a move to shore up his political campaign, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump met with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, calling him a “partner” in his fight against “illegal immigration,” and then went to Phoenix to arouse his followers by ratifying his call to build a “great border wall” and for mass deportations.
