Luis Gutiérrez, the ten-term congressman and champion of struggling immigrants, published a book of memoirs, where he talks about his childhood in the mean streets of Chicago and his rise to prominence as a national public figure and political leader. Entitled “Still Dreaming: My Journey from the Barrio to Capitol Hill,” his book gives details about his early life in Chicago’s volatile politics, his work as a progressive politician, and his complex relationship with President Obama on immigration reform.
