Fighting the New Voter Suppression.
Battling voter suppression, police brutality, job discrimination and school segregation Cesar Chavez and his mentor Fred Ross Sr. created a number of community organizations throughout California during the 1950s and waged epic battles to sign up voters and win elections. As their sons now reflect, the same voter suppression Chavez and Ross Sr. fought seven decades ago is now experiencing a resurgence in right-wing conservative states and are urging Congress to pass comprehensive voting rights reform.

Two-Step Infrastructure Plan.
President Biden and a bipartisan group of senators announced that they had reached a deal on part of an infrastructure package to fund roads, electric-vehicle charging stations, broadband, public transit, drinking water and other physical infrastructure. Working on a “two-track” bill process, Democrats seek to pass universal pre-K, tax credits for poorer families and other provisions of Biden’s families plan using budget reconciliation. This is an update.
