Washington Paid Family Leave. Starting at the New Year, workers in the state of Washington will have the right to receive between 12 and 18 weeks of paid leave when they have a child or to take care of themselves or family members in case of illness. The new insurance program is called The Paid Family and Medical Leave Act.
