Most Latino and Asian immigrants in California experienced discrimination in the workplace due to skin color or accent. Most also feel their access to legal immigration status would be threatened if they use government benefits, such as housing aid, health care and food programs. This is a conversation with the lead researcher of this survey.
Migrant Housing. As part of the California Comeback Plan, the Newsom administration is investing millions of dollars to renovate housing for migrant farmworker families in rural communities ahead of the harvest season. Officials say this is an essential workforce in our food supply chain and the number one economic sector. A state official explains the plan. The interview was originally aired in November.
