Extra Edition: Farm Workers Rights.
A number of leading farm worker advocates traveled through small towns in the agricultural heartlands of California’s Central Valley talking to field workers about workers’ rights to sick leave for Covid-19, including seeking vaccination and protection from employer retaliation. They also shared information about farm workers rights to get protection against heat illness. Guest analysts also discuss a recent US Supreme Court decision ruling against a California regulation that allows union organizers to access the farms to meet with farm workers as well as an agreement between California’s legislative leaders and Gov. Newsom to allow eligible undocumented immigrants 50 years and older to have health coverage under Medi-Cal.
