California New Stimulus Checks, Rental Help. California Gov. Newsom is proposing an extra $600 for millions in the state and families with children would receive another $500 under a new COVID-19 pandemic relief plan. The checks would be in addition to federal stimulus payments and would include undocumented families, who were left out of federal pandemic aid. The plan includes help to pay for rent and overdue utility bills accrued during the pandemic.
