PROGRAM # 9219 12:00 PM PST
Vaccination Efforts and Street Vendors.
As the vaccination campaign picks up pace in California and the United States, thousands of young people are getting vaccinated before schedule. Who can get the vaccine and where? A leading analyst comments on this and the news about the secondary effects so far reported of the Johnson & Johnson and other shots, and the race against the new, more contagious, coronavirus variants. Additionally, a fellow Fresno reporter files a story on how rising crime and gun violence in poorer neighborhoods is costing street vendors their lives. Why are these vendors so vulnerable and what is done locally to protect them? This report is part of a joint project between Radio Bilingue, KVPR, Fresno Bee and Vida en el Valle known as Central Valley News Collaborative.
Guests: Madi Bolaños, Reporter, Valley Public Radio, Fresno, CA; Dr. Alicia Fernández, Professor of Medicine, University of California San Francisco, General Internist, San Francisco General Hospital, San Francisco, CA.
