Coronavirus: Extra Edition.

The top leader for Sacramento public schools talks about the new, distant forms of learning his district has been forced to suddenly set in place due to the coronavirus emergency. He discusses the impact the crisis is having on the school community, the online classrooms planned for distant learning, the plans to reach out to low-income families and ESL students with social and emotional support services, the continuation of the school lunch program for families in need, and the plans for virtual graduation ceremonies and online enrollment for next year. On other topic, as Kern County reports almost 700 cases of coronavirus and one more death, an official announces a new Covid-19 testing site to serve residents of the hardest-hit East side. She confirmed that most of the Covid-19 cases are people younger than 50 and that there are no testing sites in the small farming towns around the county.

Guests: Jorge Aguilar, Superintendent, Sacramento City Unified School District, Sacramento, CA; Ellie Bojorquez, Spanish Spokesperson, Kern County Public Health, Bakersfield, CA
