Isabel Guzman has been confirmed as Administrator of the US Small Business Administration, a development hailed by Latino leaders as the pandemic is hard-hitting Latino small business. Experts comment about Guzman’s experience leading California’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. They also comment on the provisions within the American Rescue Plan Act to help mom-and-pop businesses and neighborhood nonprofits to weather the pandemic, including Paycheck Protection Plan funds, federal and state small business loans and grants, and the “Community Navigator” pilot program.
