PROGRAM # 8850 12:00 PM PT
Coronavirus Emergency Aid.
As businesses closed and workers lost their jobs in record-setting numbers in recent weeks, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, also known as CARES Act, was signed into law, the largest ever economic stimulus package in the nation. Who gains and who is left out? Experts explain what’s in the law for individual taxpayers, workers, and small businesses, and how can they have access to the emergency aid. An entrepreneurial leader assesses the risks and opportunities that open up for small business and advises about new resources to help them navigate the crisis in California. Also, a lawmaker and a social leader discuss the prospects for a new federal stimulus bill that goes beyond supporting small businesses to include aid to “essential” workers and immigrants.
Guests: Nely Galan, Founder, Galan Entertainment, Member, California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development Entrepreneurship Task Force, State of California, Los Angeles, CA; Rep. Dr. Raul Ruiz, D-Coachella, CA; Sindy Benavides, Chief Executive Officer, LULAC – League of United Latin American Citizens, Washington, DC.
