The last of the great trios of romantic Mexican music is alive and well in Texas. Los Tres Reyes, or the Three Kings, still has two of its original members, who continue to sing in the three-part harmony that mixes voice with guitar and became immensely popular in the late 1940s. Founding twin brothers Gilberto and Raul Puente, along with high-voice Cuban singer Bebo Cardenas, join this edition to share anecdotes from the past and present.
Guests: Gilberto Puente, Raul Puente, and Bebo Cardenas, Trio Los Tres Reyes, San Antonio, TX, http://triolostresreyes.net.
