La Vaquería Yucateca.

Mexican Mayans from around the San Francisco Bay Area gather this weekend in a yearly event called La Vaquería to celebrate their mother language, traditional music, dance and food. La Vaquería is the most anticipated festivity held for centuries in every town square throughout Yucatan. This program features typical jarana dance music by Orquesta Jaranera del Mayab from Mérida, an internationally-renowned Yucatec folk ensemble, and bombas, the humoristic verses sang during this festive occasion.
