The legendary Norteño band Los Tigres del Norte and Mexican-American singer Lila Downs are headlining a free immigration reform concert at the National Mall in Washington DC on October 8th. Another event, on October 5th, seeks to mobilize demonstrators in more than 80 cities during the National Day for Dignity and Respect to push immigration reform to the front burner of a reticent House of Representatives. Lead organizers, including the first-ever Latina international Vice President of the largest healthcare union in North America, discuss their plans. The star musicians Jorge Hernández, from Los Tigres del Norte, and Lila Downs also participate on this program.
