– This program, originally aired on June 2000, featured an interview with veteran Conjunto music expert and practitioner Juan Tejeda, discussing the evolution of Tejano music. Also, members of the “Los Dos Gilbertos” group talk about their musical roots and their mark in the Conjunto music genre. Founded in 1975 by Gilberto Garcia Sr. and Gilberto Lopez Sr in the Rio Grande Valley, the group took traditional tejano music to Radio Bilingüe’s Norteño/Tejano Music and Dance Festival in Fresno, CA the summer of 2000.
