Eugene Rodríguez, leader of the San Pablo-based cultural arts group Los Cenzontles talks about two recent film productions. “Caminos del Son: Los Cenzontles in Veracruz, 2004,” a musical travelogue of Veracruz featuring performances by iconic jaraneros like Grupo Mono Blanco and Andrés Vega Delfin. Another documentary, titled “Songs of Wood and Steel,” captures the studio collaboration with Los Lobos front man David Hidalgo in the recording of traditional Mexican and crossover songs. Rodríguez is the founder of the cultural group and director of the films.
