Extra Edition: “La Rola del Dia.”
Two artists talk about the love songs they composed to Boyle Heights, a community in East Los Angeles known for its rich Latino cultural roots. In their creations, the artists sing about gentrification and cultural loss. This program, titled “La Rola del Dia,” is part of the series Sounds of California, a multi-year project to record and archive the local California soundscape with a focus on displacement and belonging.
