In this interview, originally aired on June 13, 1997, leading Texan conjunto figure Eva Ybarra talks about her beginnings in the music and her uphill breakthrough as a master accordionist in a field dominated by male musicians. Eva, who has been called the best female accordionist in the history of conjunto music, years later went on to receive the National Endowment for the Arts top honor, the National Heritage Fellowship.
