Extra Edition: Coro de Niños Cantores del Valle de Chalco.
In 1990, the opera singer of Polish nationality Leszched Zabadka was appointed to direct the musical reception to Pope John Paul II, and for this he prepared a group of children who sang to the Supreme Pontiff during his visit to Mexico. Then the Coro de Niños Cantores del Valle de Chalco was born. Since then, the choir has recorded nine albums and has performed abroad. This edition features Christmas songs performed by the children’s choir, arias of Bel Canto classics and an interpretation of the Mexican vocal ensemble Voz en Punto. This archival program, from the Voz Pública series, was hosted by Martha Elena Ramírez and originally aired on December 22, 2017.
Guests: (music recordings) Choir of Children Singers of Valle de Chalco, songs from the album “Caminito de Belén”: the Alleluia from the English Oratorio The Messiah, by Georg Friedrich Händel; Aleluya and Tierra Viva, sang by Nana Mouskouri, Tierra Viva album; Choir of the Slaves, of the composer Giuseppe Verdi, from the opera Nabucco; Gloria Immortal, from the opera Faust.
