Neighborhood Displacement 2.

A dialogue between youth and community leaders from the Boyle Heights neighborhood in East Los Angeles, and a group of members of the distinguished group Los Macarturos, Latino recipients of the MacArthur Foundation “Genious” Fellowship. This bilingual forum includes stories of gentrification, racism, and the challenges faced by youth growing up in a barrio plagued by extreme poverty but brimming in cultural life and treasures. This one-and-a-half-hour program was recorded on September 17, 2014, in Boyle Heights, in collaboration with partner station KPFK, Pacifica Radio, Los Angeles.
