A conversation with civil rights pioneer José Angel Gutiérrez during a visit to California. Gutiérrez talks about the Republican presidential candidates’ calls to reform birthright citizenship, the rise of “outsider” candidates on both parties, and the challenges faced by Latinos to become a voting force to be reckoned with.

Also, Jane Chu: NEA Chairman. A conversation with the head of the National Endowment for the Arts, Jane Chu, during her visit to the studios of Radio Bilingüe in Fresno. She talks about her special projects marking the 50th anniversary of the arts agency, her initiative to help build bridges between immigrants and the larger community, and how the arts can help revitalize neighborhoods and solve challenges in society.
