Communities in the Rio Grande del Norte area are keeping alive the centuries-old language, customs and beliefs from the time when Spaniards founded Santa Fe, the oldest U.S. state capital, in the region between New Mexico and Colorado. The mestizo and centenarian culture is still alive and present today in the songs and legends handed down by elders in the region.
