Immigrant Girl with Cerebral Palsy Faces Uncertain Future Due to Congressional Health Bill

Until three years ago, Isabella was expected to lead a life beset by serious problems speaking, walking and taking care of herself. She has cerebral palsy. But thanks to her mothers’ determination and the treatments she receives through California’s current healthcare system, Isabella has improved. Now, not only is she bilingual, she’s also taking dance classes. But because she is an immigrant, her recovery could come to a halt if Congress approves the Republican-backed health plan. This story, and its grave warning, is the subject of a new documentary. Ruben Tapia reports from Los Angeles.
