Feature Report: Maestros of Border Music Inducted into Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame

Each year, the traditional Tejano Conjunto Festival in San Antonio brings together hundreds of musicians and fans of the popular accordion music from the Texas-Mexico border area. Each year, to recognize the best performers, the festival and its sponsor, the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, induct figures to the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame. This year, two veteran maestros were inducted: the legendary accordionist Felipe Pérez of Corpus Christi, the group Felipe Pérez y sus Polkeros, and the renowned singer-songwriter Samuel Ramos of the Rio Grande valley.
