Calls to Make Covid 19 Vaccine Available to Cross-border Workers. Even with the partial closure of the border between San Diego and Tijuana, more than 100,000 essential Latino workers cross daily from Mexico to the United States to work in San Diego. Given the resurgence of the pandemic, Hispanic members of congress are asking that this binational border population be prioritized in the distribution of vaccines once they are available.
