A caravan of more than 9,000 Hondurans marching north to seek refuge in the United States was violently dispersed by security forces while traveling through Guatemala. The use of police force against the crowd, which included women and children, was condemned by human rights groups and caused diplomatic tension between the two Central American countries. Although the caravan was disbanded, some migrants continued on their way to the Mexican border. María Martin reports from Guatemala City.
