Puerto Ricans Declare Humanitarian Crisis and Call for Action

The budget crisis in Puerto Rico is not over, and without concrete actions from the Obama administration and Congress, representatives of more than 40 organizations from the island decided to take their struggle to Washington, D.C. Social leaders say the measures of austerity imposed by the government have provoked a humanitarian emergency among the poorest residents.
