Sheriff Questioned About Links with Immigration Agents

This week’s regular session of the Fresno county government was the scene of a unique public forum on immigration. This is the second such forum to be held since the passage of California’s TRUTH Act (short for Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds), which requires local governments with links to federal immigration agents hold periodic community meetings. Dozens of local residents showed up to voice complaints and questions to the meeting’s central figure, Sheriff Margaret Mims. Afterward, some said they left with more questions than answers.
