Throughout his artistic career, Californian actor and educator Luis Santiago, or “Xago”, Juarez has set out to explore this question. In his work with the legendary Teatro Campesino, in the public schools, in street theater, one of his goals has been to mobilize the audience to social action using comedy or drama, and to make the stage a place for the stories of the whole community.
