Group Uses Lottery Game to Teach About the Importance of the Census

Worried about the possibility that millions of dollars in resources could be wasted if there is an incomplete population count in the census that begans in March, a Texas community organization has modified the popular Mexican game of Lotería. They call it Census Lote, and are playing it in the homes of immigrant families in towns in the Rio Grande Valley to encourage them to be counted. Kristen Cabrera witnessed a Census Lote in Alamo, Texas, and brings us this report voiced by Joy Diaz.
