Wildfires that have devastated more than 100,000 acres in the Sequoia National Forest continue to threaten populations in the hills of central California. This week, Governor Gavin Newsom approved $15 billion for long-term efforts to fight wildfires, the largest investment of its kind in state history. The funds will be used to respond to catastrophic forest fires, drought, extreme heat waves and other phenomena associated with climate change. Environmental activists are demanding more effective measures in cities and protections for farm workers. Ruben Tapia has this report.
