After Massacre in Buffalo, Congress Considers Bill on Domestic Terrorism

Days after the massacre in an African-American neighborhood in Buffalo, New York, the House of Representatives approved a bill aimed at preventing domestic terrorism. The bill would increase surveillance of armed militias, white supremacist groups and hate organizations. However, the bill faces an uncertain future in the Senate, where Republican leaders have shown strong opposition to any initiative that includes controls on firearms.
