In a little more than 4 months, two Mexican immigrants died in detention centers in Arizona. In May, 31-year-old Jesús Deniz-Sahagun died in Eloy, and in September, 39-year-old Juan García Hernández died in Florence. These deaths are focusing attention again on the complaints of many detainees in the immigration system of this border state. Many have called for better healthcare and an end to punishment for those who file complaints of abuse. Valeria Fernández visited the detention center in Eloy, Arizona, where there have been more deaths in the last decade than in any other center in the country. Valeria has the story of two detainees.
