Judge Closes DACA Program; Immigrants Pin Hopes on Congress

This week, a federal judge in Texas ordered the closing of the Deferred Action program, or DACA, which has protected from deportation hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants brought to the United States as children. Judge Andrew Hanen declared the program unconstitutional and barred the government from approving new applications. Dreamer leaders warn that the solution to their uncertain situation now lies in the hands of Congress, where there are at least two bills awaiting legislative action. Prominent Dreamer Pamela Chomba spoke about this with News Director Samuel Orozco.
