After more than two decades as sheriff, and after having successfully avoided numerous accusations and federal investigations, a pending court case could unleash serious criminal charges against the octagenarian sheriff. Flaco was distinguished by the National Endowment for the Arts as a National Heritage Fellow, the nation’s highest honor for traditional arts, and more recently, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy’s, the highest recognition of the United States music industry. Why More People Are Visiting the Dentist in California – Many more kids in California now receive dental care than did ten years ago. That’s what one study says, attributing it in part to an expansion of California’s Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal, public health insurance for low-income residents. And not only children, but also more adults are going to see the dentist, according to our reporter Rubén Tapia, who spoke with a few new patients at the Romero community clinic in Los Angeles.
