Hundreds of Thousands of Medi-Cal Enrollees in Limbo – California is one of the states that expanded the public health insurance Medicaid, under the Affordable Care Act, to offer healthcare to more people who make much more than the federal poverty level. Almost two million people enrolled in the program, known as Medi-Cal in California. But the huge demand caused delays and more than 900,000 new applications are still pending. From Los Angeles, Araceli Martinez reports on the backlog.

Zapateado with Zydeco – What happens when you put together the sounds of a  jarana and zapateado with the sounds of the accordion and the washboard? A new musical sound steeped in two cultures, from Mexico and Louisiana, have both now found a new home in San Pablo, California.
